Baptism is one of the ordinances given to the Church by Christ. It is an act carried out by all who profess faith in Jesus. In baptism, the believer is washed in water signifying that God, by grace, has forgiven their sins because of Christ's shed blood in his sacrifice on the cross (Matt. 28:18-20, Acts. 2:38, Rom. 6:3-10, Eph, 1:7-8, 1 Pet. 3:21).
